Kyler Blades was born and raised in Whitefish, Montana playing football, basketball, baseball, and golf. He went on to play college baseball at Wenatchee Valley College and was a captain his senior year at Pacific Lutheran University. Kyler was a recipient of the NWAC Athletic Leadership Award and also was named to the NWAC All-Academic team. He later received the highest transfer decoration at Pacific Lutheran University becoming a Provost Merit Scholar. He spent the bulk of his senior year compiling studies to present to the Kinesiology department on the effects of strength training on adolescent and preadolescent athletes.
